KS2 visit to The Ulster Folk & Transport Museum

26th Jan 2023

P5, P6, P7 & DU2 had an amazing day visiting The Ulster Folk & Transport Museum today. We got to see some properties hundreds of years old, a picture house, a bank manager’s house and paid a visit to the local doctor. We also paid a visit to the old fashioned sweet shop in the Ulster Folk Museum.

In the Ulster Transport Museum we boarded trains, trams and double decker buses and found out some fascinating facts about the Titanic. Some of the children also got to jet-ski, control a ‘flying tractor’ and see the world famous Delorean.

It was an incredibly busy day, but the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves exploring both museums. A special thank you to Mr Heggarty for obtaining funding from The Ulster-Scots Agency that generously fully funded this trip and the purchase of pencils and rubbers for every child.
